As a filmmaker, Williams is the writer and director of the critically acclaimed feature-length 2018 documentary Gurrumul about the blind, Indigenous singer Geoffrey Gurrumul Yunupingu. Gurrumul won the Asia Pacific Screen Academy Best Feature Documentary, the AACTA Best Feature Documentary, and the 2018 Australian Directors Guild Best Direction in a Feature Documentary, among many other festival, guild and critical awards.

With over 20 years in the industry, Williams brings his experience as an editor, writer, director and producer to his current role.
