As part of our French Focus: this session delves into the collaborative dynamics of co-productions.
In 2023, twice-Emmy®-nominated director Sally Aitken (Hot Potato: The Story of The Wiggles; Every Little Thing, Sundance 2024) and prolific media executive Aline Jacques (Living Universe, ABC, Curiosity Stream and ARTE), co-founders of SAM Content, secured Screen Australia Enterprise funding and inked a new deal with esteemed French production company ZED. Having had a long and successful working relationship on many Australian-French productions, they’ve learned a trick or two. Join Sally and Aline, in conversation with producers Christine Le Goff and Floran Sax from ZED, as they provide firsthand insights into their cross-continental co-production relationships, outlining how to build successful co-production models and develop a slate of international co-productions.
From navigating diverse regions and countries to overcoming the challenges of different time zones, this session unravels the secrets behind fostering enduring co-production partnerships. Gain valuable knowledge on how these collaborations can ignite creativity and innovation in the realm of nonfiction storytelling.
