AIDC & ACMI ANNOUNCE ‘DOCUMENTED’ SCREENING PROGRAM FOR AIDC 2024

FEATURING 2024 BEST DOCUMENTARY OSCARⓇ-NOMINEES 20 DAYS IN MARIUPOL & FOUR DAUGHTERS

Press pause on fiction and celebrate the power of documentary storytelling on the big screen with AIDC 2024’s Documented screening program, co-presented with ACMI.

Celebrate this year’s AIDC program with a tightly curated selection of documentaries from Australia and around the world, screened at the ACMI cinemas in Fed Square, Melbourne / Naarm.

This year, our program weaves into the fabric of the AIDC 2024 theme: FRONTLINES. Whether they are innovative frontlines, creative frontlines, or physical frontlines, these films are at the forefront, standing their ground and leading the way.

Featuring films by AIDC Speaker guests, including the Victorian premiere of Mstyslav Chernov’s 2024 OscarⓇ-nominated 20 Days in Mariupol, Kaouther Ben Hania’s 2024 OscarⓇ-nominated Four Daughters, the latest documentary from Midnight Family director Luke Lorentzen, A Still Small Voice (with Q&A), and Sophie Compton and Reuben Hamlyn’s SXSW Special Jury Award-winner, Another Body. Plus two free daytime screenings including Berlin Film Festival award-winning short Marungka tjalatjunu (Dipped in Black) (with Q&A) and Frontlines: Short Films Curated by POV (PBS).

“AIDC is extremely proud to present the 2024 Documented screening program showcasing recent award-winning documentaries by AIDC participating filmmakers,” said AIDC CEO / Creative Director, Natasha Gadd.

“This year’s lineup features a curated selection of shorts and feature docs that respond to our Frontlines theme and that celebrate unique voices, bold creative visions and courageous storytelling. Thank you to our co-presentation partners at ACMI and curatorial collaborators at POV (PBS).”

All screenings in the Documented screening program are open to the public, with bookings and tickets available via the ACMI website.
