THE ABORIGINAL HERITAGE WALK
The Aboriginal Heritage Walk offers a rich and vibrant cultural experience and is one of the most popular tours at Royal Botanic Gardens Melbourne, a stone’s throw from the AIDC. Indigenous guides provide a unique insight into the history of both the Gardens and its traditional owners. Daily except Saturday, and bookings are essential.
THE KOORIE HERITAGE TRUST
The Koorie Heritage Trust is conveniently located at Federation Square and welcomes non-Indigenous people to learn about Victoria’s Indigenous cultural heritage. Exhibitions and cultural walks are available daily.
YALINGUTH BIRRARUNG
The Yalinguth by the Birrarung/Yarra River – First Nations Audio Trail is a geo-located audio app sharing Aboriginal history through stories, music, and soundscapes. This adventure spans Enterprize Park to the MCG including Fed Square. You’ll hear stories about pre-colonial life, the destruction that followed, the Aboriginal leaders that inspired the rights movement, and at the MCG, how AFL was born from the great Aboriginal game Marngrook.
