Digital platforms showcasing documentary have evolved considerably over the last few years. Yet the landscape can be confusing to navigate with ever changing algorithms, audiences and deal terms. Where are the real opportunities for Australian filmmakers in the digital world?
In this session, Alex Hryniewicz from Little Dot Studios in London discusses the opportunities and the pitfalls of making digital content, drawing on his collaborations with filmmakers as well as working with a huge range of digital platforms including YouTube, Facebook Watch, IGTV, Snapchat and Amazon. Alex will give an insight into a range of issues including audience reach, digital rights and revenue sharing for filmmakers.
Recent projects commissioned by Little Dot Studios include the Screen Australia funded short form series Little Joe as well as 100m+ viewed In Your Face and the BAFTA TV winning short Missed Call.
