Engaging Audiences With Impact!

Talk Join Doc Society's Hollie Fifer and impact filmmakers Maya Newell, Kim Ingles and David Cook for a lively and interactive session about how to successfully apply the principles of impact to engage new audiences, bolster the documentary sector and take your project to new heights.

It’s no secret that documentary filmmaking is facing enormous challenges in today’s uncertain media landscape and traditional modes of reaching audiences are increasingly difficult. In this session we look to the inventive methods impact producers are using to reach new audiences by drawing on grassroots adaptability, partnership building, and the values underpinning community and justice-centered filmmaking. In this lively and interactive session, we will investigate current global impact strategies and case studies from recent local impact-driven projects including The Oyster Gardener and Frontline Rangers and how we can apply these principles of impact filmmaking to connect your doc and factual projects to wider audiences. Moderated by Doc Society’s Hollie Fifer, this is an open discussion where guests of Regionality will be collectively invited to share ideas and find creative solutions to some of the most pressing challenges facing our industry. The answers may be closer than you think!
