Indigenous Creators Program: Future of First Nations Funding

Indigenous An opportunity for Indigenous Creators Program participants to hear from broadcasters and funds seeking Indigenous-authored stories, including ABC Indigenous, NITV, CBC and Screen Australia.

First Nations practitioners only

What does the future of the First Nations screen sector currently look like? Are authentic perspectives, voices, and development pathways to increase the sector a priority? Will funders and commissioners be more risk averse, or will they increase innovative opportunities?

The Future of First Nations Funding session will explore and dive into the commissioning priorities of each organisation represented on our panel, revealing their forward plans on how best to strengthen opportunities for First Nations storytelling, and what they are essentially looking to commission heading into 2025.

Join our yarn with decision makers representing national and international broadcasters and funds all seeking Indigenous-authored stories, including CBC (Canada) ABC Indigenous, NITV and Screen Australia. Moderated by Jodie Bell (Ramu Productions), all Indigenous Creators Program participants are invited to discuss and discover opportunities and avenues for First Nations documentary and factual stories.

First Nations practitioners only.
