Indigenous Creators Program: Opportunities for Impact

Indigenous First Nations-authored projects are inherently impactful, but how can we dream bigger for our communities?

First Nations films often seamlessly weave together activism, impact and storytelling, but how can we learn from existing impact campaigns and organise our strategies to ensure we get the most out of a project’s life cycle for the betterment of the communities we serve?

This session will look at strategies employed in impact campaigns that ensured the benefits of storytelling extended beyond the screen, creating tangible and positive outcomes for the communities involved. As we spotlight local and global examples, the session will explore how impact campaigns harness the power of film to instigate positive social change. Participants can expect to gain valuable insights into the art of weaving narratives and strategies that not only resonate with audiences, but also catalyse meaningful actions and uplift Indigenous communities.

Join us for this impactful conversation as we navigate the intersection of storytelling, responsibility, and community empowerment, shedding light on the potential of First Nations documentaries to serve as instruments of positive change both locally and globally.
