Indigenous Creators Program: Protecting Indigenous creatives, their stories and their culture
Panel
Join Screen Australia’s Indigenous Department and Arts Law for a discussion on best practices for Indigenous creatives when collaborating.
In this session we will hear from Screen Australia’s Indigenous Department Manager, Laurrie Brannigan-Onato, as well as, Arts Laws Senior Solicitor Suzanne Derry. This session hopes to demystify what is best practice when collaborating, in the hopes of providing Indigenous creatives with the tools to uphold Indigenous Cultural Intellectual Property protocols. The session will be followed by a Q&A which will include Artist in the Black Coordinator John Waight.
The Indigenous Creators Program is a series of four sessions that are available to all Australian and international Indigenous and First Nations practitioners registered to attend AIDC. These sessions are optional to attend and will be closed to media and non-Indigenous practitioners.
