Lessons from the Field with Documentary Australia
Craft Drawing on case studies of Incarceration Nation and Cry of the Forests, discover what’s been achieved in the world of Impact and how to tell your story to potential funders.
What do we mean when we talk about “impact”? How do we measure it? What counts as impact, and is this compelling to a potential funder? In this revelatory session Documentary Australia presents The Impact Report, in which they will share lessons from the field of recent impact campaigns. Join Documentary Australia Co-Founder and CEO Mitzi Goldman and Impact and Education Director Clara Williams Roldan as they discuss effective impact strategies and evaluation frameworks for documentaries and how organisational impact is measured.
Examining case studies of both social justice and environmental impact films, fellow panellists Dean Gibson (Incarceration Nation) and Jane Hammond (Cry of the Forests) will explore how filmmakers can shape and measure the impact of projects to attract philanthropic support.
Documentary Australia will also reveal new opportunities for filmmakers wanting to work in the storytelling for impact space.
