CRAFT Kyle Murdoch discusses working with Getty Images on his new National Geographic series, In Their Own Words
Don’t miss this special Getty Images session in the Screenrights Industry Lounge in which Kyle Murdoch, Managing Director of NHNZ, will discuss making archive based shows with Douglas Simpson, Production Account Manager for Getty Images; including the new National Geographic series In Their Own Words produced by 1895 Films in association with NHNZ.
In Their Own Words weaves together stories from original, long-forgotten audio and film recordings from around the world, including the Deepwater Horizon disaster, narco drug wars and the 2008 global financial meltdown. Kyle and Douglas will discuss how the teams at 1895 and NHNZ sourced and selected the materials for the series – many of which have never been heard or broadcast before – and how they created an extraordinarily powerful and engaging format that allows the audience to bring the past into the present. Kyle will also share his experiences of collaborating with Douglas and the extensive Getty Images archives on some of their most successful natural history programs.
