AIDC’s Indigenous Creators Program is a dedicated strand of sessions and marketplace activities designed by and for First Nations practitioners to come together, share ideas and elevate the craft and business of First Nations stories.
Now in its fourth year, the Indigenous Creators program welcomes Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander practitioners as well as First Nations practitioners from across the globe. The program is targeted at all experience levels across the documentary and factual sector and is designed to bring together creators working in all forms of nonfiction screen content.
The 2022 Indigenous Creators Program consists of four sessions designed to provide new opportunities to upskill, network, and pitch market-ready projects to decision makers seeking Indigenous-led stories.
The program takes place alongside AIDC’s 2022 event, giving First Nations practitioners access to AIDC’s full suite of offerings including industry sessions, marketplace activities and networking events.

The 2022 Indigenous Creators Program sessions will take place throughout AIDC 2022 to provide participants with access to decision makers and speakers, as well information about key industry trends and insights for practitioners attending AIDC.

AIDC 2022 will once again offer all First Nations Practitioners the opportunity to access the First Nations Marketplace. This industry program is for Indigenous practitioners with market-ready documentary and factual projects, giving applicants the opportunity to facilitate meetings with local and international decision makers specifically looking to work with Indigenous creatives.
Decision makers for the First Nations Marketplace will be announced over the coming weeks. All registered delegates were eligible to submit a project via AIDC’s Cut to the Chase marketplace, which is now closed for 2022.

To be eligible for the Indigenous Creators Program, simply register for a Business, All Access or Focus Pass to attend AIDC 2021. Once registered, Indigenous practitioners will immediately be eligible to participate in all the program’s sessions.
