REGIONALITY CAIRNS 2023 First Line-up Announcement
MEET THE DECISION MAKERS ATTENDING FOR 1:1 MEETINGS & NETWORKING
AIDC and Screen Queensland, in collaboration with Screenworks, are excited to announce the first line-up of local decision makers confirmed to participate in REGIONALITY CAIRNS 2023, a one-day screen industry event for documentary and factual practitioners in regional Queensland, happening Friday 28 July at the Cairns Performing Arts Centre (CPAC).
Joining us in Cairns, decision makers representing broadcasting, streaming, and distribution will be on the ground to connect with documentary and factual practitioners from regional and Far North Queensland through industry sessions, 1:1 meetings and networking events.
Our initial line-up includes:
KALITA CORRIGAN (AUS) | COMMISSIONING EDITOR, ABC FACTUAL & CULTURE
As curator of ABC’s long-form Arts slate, Kalita commissions prime-time broad audience series and feature docs that champion the arts and culture.
BERNADINE LIM (AUS) | COMMISSIONING EDITOR, FACTUAL, SBS
Formerly the Head of Documentary at Screen Australia Bernadine works across SBS’s slate of distinctive commissioned documentaries, championing diverse stories and exploring issues impacting contemporary Australia.
MARISSA MCDOWELL (AUS) | HEAD OF COMMISSIONS, NITV
Marissa is a Wiradjuri woman, employed by SBS as the Head of Commissions for NITV. She is the chair for Us Mob Writers and a member of the Minister’s Creative Council for the ACT Government.
HOLLIE FIFER (AUS) | DIRECTOR OF AUSTRALIAN PROGRAMS, DOC SOCIETY
Hollie is a filmmaker and current Director of Australian Programs at Doc Society, a non-profit committed to enabling great documentary films and connecting them to audiences globally.
RUFUS RICHARDSON (AUS) | DOCUMENTARY EXECUTIVE, MADMAN ENTERTAINMENT
Rufus is responsible for the management of Madman’s wholly owned documentary SVOD platform DocPlay.
