Andrew Ogilvie established Electric Pictures in 1992. Since then he has earned a reputation as one of Australia’s most experienced producers of award-winning factual programming. Andrew has financed many television programs with the backing of the world’s major factual television broadcasters including the ABC, ARTE, AVRO, BBC, Channel Four, Discovery Channel, History Channel, NHK, National Geographic, NDR, PBS, RTE, S4C, SBS, Sky, and ZDF. He has established co-production relationships with production companies in the UK, and has also produced with USA, French, Italian and Welsh Independents on programs including Drain The Oceans, Hotel Mumbai, Cracking The Colour Code, Skin Deep, and Addicted To Money. In 2013 Electric Pictures was listed as one of the Real Screen Global 100 – a list that celebrates the companies making the best work in non-fiction film and television worldwide. Andrew and the Electric team are currently producing seasons 7 & 8 of Aussie Gold Hunters, a 20 hour character driven factual series for Discovery Communications which tells the stories of gold prospectors and their ambition to make their fortune in Australia’s Goldfields.
