Keoni Kailimai (USA)
Director of Programming
Pacific Islanders In Communications

Keoni is Director of Programming for Pacific Islanders in Communications and commissions for PBS.

In 2024 I am choosing to be led by my home sands and ancestors. I returned to Hawai’i and took up the post of Director of Programmes for Pacific Islanders in Communications (PIC for short!). As part of this work I commission a documentary strand on PBS entitled “Pacific Heartbeat”.

Before this I was the Senior Programme Executive and Executive Producer for BBC Storyville and Factual Acquisition. I joined the BBC initially as an Assistant Commissioner for Storyville.

Most importantly I am Kanaka ʻŌiwi, Indigenous Native Hawaiian, and I’m proud to call the ancestral districts of Kohala and Waimea, Hawaiʻi home.
