Naomi Hall (Australia)
Founder
Research Engine

Naomi Hall is one of Australia’s most experienced visual content researchers and producers.

With a sound knowledge of the world’s archive vaults, tunnels and sewers, she also holds a good grasp on the current complexities that often emerge when it comes to copyright clearances.

For over twenty years Naomi worked as a freelance archive producer on a multitude of television series and silver screen productions.

She has many favourites, some more challenging than others. Just a few stand-outs include: Tony Krawtiz’s The Tall Man, Daina Reid’s Paper Giants: The Birth of Cleo, Ron Howard’s The Beatles: Eight Days a Week, Anna Broinowski’s Hanson: Please Explain! and Gillian Armstrong’s Women He’s Undressed

In 2021 Naomi fired up her new company, Research Engine, to help service an ever-increasing demand for archive content, but also to offer mentorship to a new generation of archive researchers. The Research Engine hasn’t stalled once since its inception, in fact has been in overdrive for most of the time, and with a fair few Ks to go.
